Exercise or work out with herniated disc?
Nov 2nd
Does anyone have suggestions on what type of exercise/workout can be done with herniated lumbar discs? I currently have issues with sitting, standing, riding in a car, lifting, bending, twisting, turning. I am appealing my workman’s comp case – the injury happened while I was shipping at work, but they say since I had been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, they do not have to pay (different topic!). Anyway . . . I was told to exercise & lose weight . . . pray tell, how can I do this when any volume of activity sends burning, shooting pain from my hip through my toes (this pain does not stop after I cease activity)? Any real suggestions are welcome!
Low back / Sciatica Stretch you can do at home or at work PART TWO
Oct 26th
This is a follow-up to the first low back/sciatic stretch that we did and is another great stretch that you can do practically anywhere. If you have lower back (lumbar) or sciatic pain, weakness or stress throughout the day, this is an easy stretch you can do right in your chair at work or at home, that will help strengthen and stabilize those areas for you. For more information on stretches you can do, check out the exercises and stretches on our website at www.circlechiropracticcenter.com! To ask Dr. Christopher Frey a question about stretches or other health related questions, please check out our website and send us an email directly at circlechiro@gmail.com) For more information about this particular video, and sciatica, check out Doc’s blog: circlechiro.wordpress.com
Is it bad to work out with sciatica?
Sep 25th
I have been having sciatica pains for about a month but just got diagnosed about a week ago and have been taking prednisone to help, but i still get pain. I have been trying to stay away from activity because i thought it would make it hurt more, but i feel like im getting out of shape and i was wondering if working out would really make it worse. I am a dancer, so would stretching hurt it more or no? what kinds of things are okay to do with sciatica? and is sciatica totally curable or will i have this pain forever?
What medication would work best for back pain from standing for 6 hours?
May 2nd
I have flat feet, which results in back/foot/leg pain and fatigue after standing still for long periods of time. I do have orthotic inserts for my shoes, but that doesn’t stop the pain.
What kind of medication could I talk to my doctor about regarding such an issue? Something that can relieve or possibly numb the pain but keep me coherent during extended periods of standing still? (like orthodox church services for example, which can last as long as 6 hours during the week of easter)
