However, most nights he is in much much pain that he can hardly stand it. He cant find a position that does not cause sharp pain in his thigh and hip. ANy ideas on temporary relief?

Problems there can also be an affect of problems and pain elsewhere in your body. Problems such as RSI and carpal tunnel syndrome can have a neck component in their cause and thus treatment. Although it is less common than the lumber spine, there can be disk problems in the neck and I have had clients with an impingement pressing into the spinal cord, one as a result of a martial arts injury. In these cases I was able to help them and ease their pain. Motor crashes, falls and other accidents can also cause problems in the neck. Many motor crashes lead to whiplash type injuries. It is worth while, whether you are a therapist or have a neck problem yourself to make a study of the anatomy of the neck, each vertebra is slightly different and there are many muscles that support and move it. C1 (the atlas) sits at the top of your spine and a large bone with wide transverse processes that can be felt under the ear when someone is sitting or standing. (The other neck vertebrae have small transverse processes.) The skull rests on it and it has a large range of rotational movement. It can also be misaligned in all three planes and alignment of the sphenoid bone is closely inter-related. What can I do to relieve what I think is sciatica pain-it is in the right side of my butt and hurts more when?

I move or press on it-like ouch when lying in bed. Are there some natural ways to address this? It just came out of nowhere. A hot bath helped somewhat, but soon wore off and pain returned. Since I can’t live in the bathtub, any other thoughts.
