How Can I Help My Husband with His Sciatica?
He is in pain, he has trouble sitting, lying, walking, everything. So far we’ve done hot and cold treatments, taken drugs, seen the doctor. We are looking into this new decompression treatment, chiropractors and accupunturists. Surgery is the last option he wants to take. Personally, it would be my first. How can I physically help [...]

hello ,yes my pain has gone , this is the best excercise its stretched my piriformis , it was solid be4 and put pressure on my nerve, after a few weeks of doin this i was better ,oh i also did theres excercises in the sauna at the gym

@2diefor8694 This exercise only has fast results if your sciatic pain is due to piriformis syndrome, I have it due to a crap disc… BUT the pain means you are stretching it…which is good either way… is you pain gone now? I noticed your post was 90 days ago
September 9, 2010 - 10:31 pm
@2diefor8694 Probably a few days if it’s a prolapsed disc. I prolapsed L4-L5 in 1994 and it took a few weeks to improve. But the injury never went away completely. I’ve got it for life and I just manage it.

@TheGreenLantern01 I am so glad this exercise helped. However, be careful not to over-stretch. Also, there are some other sciatica related exercises on the channel -check them out if you’d like…
My best!

OMG, i was in a terrible car accident and have had this pain for 15 years. This cleared it right up. I’m able to do things that i haven’t done in 15 years

This stretch is dangerous to do without permission from your doctor… It strained my lower back in order to help my piriformis.. Therefore I do other exercies for my piriformis muscle rather then this..

@2diefor8694 I am sorry, but I can’t answer this … I hope you will feel better soon.

ive been doin this excercise 4 a day now , how long will it take for me to feel beta?
September 10, 2010 - 1:31 am
This exercise which is also known as pidgeon pose in Yoga, caused me excruciating pain in the piriformis and this exercise I can no longer do. Literally could not walk after performing this stretch.

of course – as chrisevilmonkey (and author of the video) suggest – definitely consult your doctor.
Different exercises work for different people….

this exercise does not work for me, and it intensifies the pain. So i really suggest people to consult their doctors before practicing this.

With this exercise you are stretching the piriformis in your left leg. After stretching it, I suggest mobilizing the sciatica nerve. I cannot post link here (YT regulations), but I am talking about an exercise called “Sciatica Exercises against Sciatica Nerve Pain”.
Basically you could perform the exercise with the leg that is in pain; but it won’t hurt if you do it with the other leg too.

Hi, I have sciatica and I have a question about this video. Is the extended leg the one that is in pain or is the other leg the one that is in pain. Also, do I do this exercise with both legs or just the one that is in pain?
Thanks

Hi! I am so sorry, but I cannot answer this question, only your doctor can.

iam male 21 i have sciatica
can you please tell me if i do this excercise how long does it take to be like before so healthy
thanks

Great! I am glad you like it!
One tip: go as low as you can with the extended leg, and of course make sure you are in comfortable position.
Cheers!

Why didn’t i think of that? I have exercise which does the same thing but i think this one is going to be much effective AND easier to do.
Thanks.
