Pain Relief
What can you do for a pinched nerve?
I think it is a pinched nerve. My whole right arm is in a lot of pain and it is numb and tingly. My Doctors appointment isn’t for another week. What can I do to help alieviate my pain? What about at night when I’m sleeping and can’t control my body position?

I had a pinched nerve for years and the many chiropractors I had gone to kept it at a level that I had to keep coming back to them. Not until I found a chiropractors for the Texas rangers did it ever get better. You have to keep your spine limber. VERY VERY light stretching. This is not something that you can fix overnight. Just remember that it will get better once you have your back stretched out and you get the muscles around your spine working. One thing that worked wonders for me was to get a couple racquetballs and lay on top of them with the balls positioned on the sore parts of my spine. Also , you must keep your legs stretched also. If your legs are tight your back and stomach have to overcompensate and that causes back pain. As far as immediate relief I am not sure their is a whole lot except ibuprofen or whatever works for you and keeping pressure off your back. And remember that once your back is feeling better you really need to get into some exercise program either with light weights or cardio and keep the muscles around your spine in good shape.

pinched nerves are hard to care for. I’ve found massage helps out. You may have done something to pinch the nerve. The doctor is best to help you out.

Hey Chrissy,
See if you can find the largest gel pack. One that you can either microwave or freeze and buy two of them, so you can rotate them. You need to be icing it, not heating. Pinched nerves swell. Whilst waiting to see your doctor, you might go see a chiropractor &/or acupuncturist. I know how much pain you are in. Try the links below, too. I hope you feel better soon. Take care.
