When a nerve becomes ‘pinched’ it is entrapped. Which is why they are so painful. this happens usually when the muscle becomes so tight it squeezes the nerve. Or the muscle becomes tight and it pulls on the bones, causing them to shift and sometimes entrapping a nerve. It sounds like you pinched a nerve in your neck. If you are able try to schedule a Massage Therapy session at one of your local spas. Ask for a deep tissue. Of you can visit a chiropractor. If you don’t have the means to do this then you can heat a moist towel in the microwave and drape it around your neck. the heat from this will force your muscles to relax and loosen up. Then tilt your head to the side and try to crack your neck. You can even try to get a friend or family member to rub your shoulders for you.
