Pain Relief
Can a woman have a pinched nerve in her breast?
My friend was complaining that a certain area on her breast hurts, but there’s no lump, bruise, or anything like that. She has a doctor’s appointment. The doctor’s office said that it may be a small cyst that she cannot feel. But, my friend keeps saying that it’s a pinched nerve. Can that happen in the breast? I thought a pinched nerve is when someone makes a quick movement and the nerve gets pinched in a joint, like in the neck.

Your friend could have a neuralgia, where a nerve is irritiated. Your friend is describing her symptom the only way she knows how, even though it is not accurate. Your definition of a pinched nerve is correct. In any case, it’s good that she is seeing the doctor, localized breast pain (pain to one spot in a breast) is not a normal finding and needs to be checked out.
