Pain Relief
muscle relaxers for a herniated disc in the upper neck, can you tell me about them ?
My son in law is only 31 and has a herniated disc in his upper neck and he is in great pain. He has been told he can use muscle relaxants, are they are by prescription or are there any over the counter meds he can get ? He is seeing a chiropractor who said he could take them, but my son in law isn’t big into taking meds, but I thought if he took them, it might relax his neck and help him recover ? I’ve never had these issues ?

I spent over 30 years going to the chiropractor with my neck, having had a standing two week appointment. Then I found out how to release my neck muscles which took care of all the pain I had in my neck and I haven’t been back to the chiropractor in 16 months. If you think he would be interested in also kicking the chiropractor while getting the best relief for his neck then he should give these releases a try. They did the trick for me and countless others. Here’s how to release the neck muscles which will take the pressure off the disc:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your head. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After 45 seconds, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
With your neck in the lowered position, replace your thumbs in under the ears and your fingers behind your head but right next to your skull this time. Press your fingers and thumbs together again and hold. Relax your body while waiting. When the muscles have all released, slowly lift your head until it’s level again, release the pressure but hold your head like that for another 30 seconds.
