Viewing Chiropractic as Safe Health Treatment
Jan 20th
Though Chiropractic practices was clouded with skepticism, the considerable numbers of people who obtain a positive result after a Chiropractic treatment pave way to the popularity of this alternative medicine throughout the world. Chiropractic which existed since 1895 is continuously proving its significance in treating and managing various disorders about skeletal and muscular body structure.
Chiropractic may not be considered by The American Medical Association as a scientific medical form of treatment but the continuous regulation standards in Chiropractic as a complementary alternative medicine and the accreditation policy of Chiropractic schools in the United States assure the quality and credibility of Chiropractic practitioners.
The American Medical Association and its members do not directly support Chiropractic but they believe that this alternative medicine demonstrated a satisfactory good degree of efficacy in relieving and managing pain arising from joints, muscles and bones ailments. The AMA likewise states that it is not unethical for medical doctors to work with or combine their treatment with that of Chiropractor especially if this will benefit the patient. In fact, medical doctors can also teach and take part to the education development of Chiropractic students.
Chiropractic practices if performed skillfully and accordingly was likewise declared by the World Health Organization as safe and effective as a health care alternative for avoidance and controlling several health disorders. Chiropractic also stands tall to its non-invasive approach that probably attracts millions of people to try this alternative medicine.
There have been several researches and studies in the past conducted by health agencies in United States and Canada that supported the scientific validity and efficacy of chiropractic treatment for various muscle and joint related pains and disorders. One example is the Manga Report that was funded by Ontario Ministry of Health. This study revealed interesting findings that Chiropractic treatment surprisingly obtained higher patient approval compared with other traditional treatments because of the lower cost of the Chiropractic and non-confinement during treatment period.
There are likewise previously conducted comparative studies that revealed positive response of employees in favor of Chiropractic treatment as compared with standard doctor consultation. They state that recovery from neck or back injuries are faster if done with the help of Chiropractic practitioners. This also means that absences from work are significantly lessen when employees or workers seek Chiropractic to treat their muscle and joint related disorders.
Chiropractors are also viewed by their patients as more hands-on or more attentive to their treatment. Chiropractic practitioners tend to work closer with their patients hence, patients are more comfortable to relay and talk about the disorders. Patients perceived that the health care they obtained from Chiropractic are more personalized and greatly designed for their own body structure.
The success and growing wide acceptance to Chiropractic practices will not be possible if there is no significant number of people who have tried this alternative medicine and attested for its efficacy in relieving pain. The safeness of Chiropractic have been under observations for so many years because of the insufficient scientific proof of the subluxation concept of Chiropractic but it is really the patients and the effectivity of this treatment that indeed strengthen the proposition of Chiropractic as a safe alternative medicine.

Synovial Joints and Back Pain
Jan 20th
The synovial joints are made up of capsule ligaments, tendon sheath that is the liner of synovium, tendons, cartilages, and synovium. Fluids pass through these joints. The synovial joints connect with the bones, which structured scaffolds of the body joins with additional bones.
The joints produce fluids, which lubricates them. The fluids contain itself within the capsules, which promote movement. Movement is limited by bone structures. Flexible sectors can also limit movement, as well as connective tissues and inelastic mechanisms.
When the synovial joints are interrupted, it affects the ligaments. The ligaments will limit movement of abnormal joints. Ligaments induce movement amid two bones that make it easy for a collection of muscles to contract, expand, and stimulate the nerves. The nerves expand to CNS. (Central Nervous System) Bones attach to the muscles via tendons. Tendons are thin and stronger than the muscles, which the tendons permit the muscles to converge by pulling it through small openings.
Bursa acts a servant to the joints and muscles, since it precludes friction from traveling amid the two progressing exteriors. Bursa is a sac filled with fluids, which if bursa rubs against another joint it causes inflammation. Bursitis can set in if rubbing causes inflammation and the sac fills with fluid. Bursitis usually targets the elbows and shoulder, yet the pain extends to the back. When the bursa fails, it can cause swelling, pain, fevers, and numbness, stiffness of the joints, fatigue, and limited mobility.
The human skeleton is made up of 206 bones. Inside the skeleton system is the cranium, jaw, collar bone (Clavicle), shoulder blade (Scapula), sternum, (breast bone) ribs, humerus, spine, radius, ulna, pelvis, carpals, (wrist bones) metacarpals, (palm bones) phalanges, finger bones, femur (Thigh bones), patella (knee cap), tibia (Shin bone), fibula, tarsals (ankle bone), metatarsals (Foot bone), and phalanges. (Toe bones) When the skeleton structure is interrupted, it can cause back pain.
Most cases of back pain are treated with bed rest, foot elevation, ice packs, compression, and so on. Many diseases can cause back pain, which the cause is found in disruptive blood vessels, soft tissues, etc. The problem can lead to excessive bleeding, which slows the healing process. R.I.C.E is a rule of structure one should keep in mind when treating back pain at home. If you have tension in the muscles, you can use this structure to reduce back pain. Rest is essential if you have tension in the muscles. Rest includes putting your feet up and relaxing the spinal column.
Ice packs are used to relieve pain as well. You can wrap ice in a damp, soft cloth and apply it to the area. Keep the pack on the area up to fifteen minutes. You can place an ice pack on the injured region every hour. If you have injured your knee, then elevate the leg before applying your ice pack. Rest and Ice packs starts R.I.C.E, which continues to compression. Compression reduces looseness of the muscles. In addition, if blood escapes into injured blood vessels, you can compress the area to apply pressure. Avoid applying pressure surpassing the volume, which the blood from the arterial system needs room to flow smoothly. Elevation involves keeping the leg a distance from the floor. You can elevate the legs to reduce lower back pain. Lie flat on the back and elevate the leg in a supporting chair. You can also place a pillow between the knees to reduce back pain.
Keep R.I.C.E. in mind when you have tension on the back, or have sustained an injury. However, if you injured your back or joints seek medical help immediately.

After an MRI scan for my sciatica why are they sending me for a head/brain scan?
Jan 18th
I have been suffering from suspected Sciatica for years and was finally sent for an MRI scan of the lover back after which I have been recalled for a brain scan. They said it is something I will have been born with and can be treated. I have leg pain, back pain, numbness, involuntary muscle movement, minor deafness, vertigo, balance issues, bad eyesight. What do you think they suspect?
No PhD, so only guessing…maybe spinal column / nerve issue(s) at connection atop column. Researched this subject lately, though, and you’re welcome to some of the links that helped me:

How long does a pinched nerve take to heal?
Jan 18th
The other day I was wearing some tight shoes, and after I took them off I noticed that the 2nd toe on both of my feet was numb. Its been 4 days and they are still numb (don’t hurt, just numb) so I am pretty sure its a pinched nerve. How long does this take to heal? I have been wearing flip flops since it happened as to not injure it any more. Also of note, I was recently tested for diabetes so I know its not anything having to do with that.
You have to let your nerve regenerate and that can take up to a couple of months. Nerve regeneration is a slow process, it also depends on your age. The younger you are the quicker it will regenerate. Hope this helps
What should I do for lower back pain problems?
Jan 18th
I have intense pain in my lower back that I have gone to a Chiropractor for, but it isn’t helping. Lately when I do sit ups a sharp pain accures when I hit a certain angle. I need a non surgical approach because I want to go into the marine corp. Would stretching and excercise do the trick by building up my back muscles? Or is it my spine?
Chiro can help very much, but, if is a muscle problem why not go first see a specialist, like an Orthopedist and then see what he refers you to. Let them do some test on you to be sure of what is the problem, here you can find quick solutions but what if is something serious. You can strengthen your core to help the muscle in your back, but again if is something serious, you can get hurt badly.
Have you tried a therapeutic massage? again it could be muscle spasm, trigger points, adhesion, things that they can work and get rid of, but they need to know if test had been done on you.
Heres a site where you can view the muscles of the back & you can see how they are connected to one another.
Good luck and feel better ^i^

Will a therapeutic massage cause harm to a herniated disc?
Jan 18th
I have herniated disc at C 5 and C 6 both with stenosis. Will having a massage including the neck area be harmfull?
I believe it matters on the type of massage you request. Different massages utilize different amounts of pressure and rubbing techniques. It would probably be a good idea to discuss what type of massage would be beneficial with your physician since it seems you have been diagnosed with a herniated disc.
