How to help someone with a pinched nerve?
Dec 29th
My older sister has a pinched nerve somewhere in her mid-lower back. I think she got it in a car accident or something. She cannot afford surgery to fix it right now, and it’s been making her life hard for quite some time. What are some things I can do to help relieve some of the pain or make her life easier?
It’s probably a pinched muscle for a pinched nerve would send her to the hospital right now. Here is how to release that pain:
Back:
Place your left hand on your left knee. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and with your fingertips find the muscle next to your spine. Press on it and hold. Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. After about 30 seconds there should be a release happening and when it does slowly lower yourself forward onto your right leg. If you can lean over the outside edge of your leg it will be better for your release. Continue holding for a total of one minute. Then release but rest your body there for one minute longer. Then reverse and do the right side.
How do you relieve lower back pain?
Dec 29th
I have been having extreme lower back pain lately.
I use a futon and a lower-back support chair.
I don’t have insurance, so a doctor or chiropracter is out of the question.
the therma care heat wraps are great! it healped so much that i am going to write the maker, i could not have gone to my sons 8th grade graduation, and you can buy the trial box at dollar genaral for 2.00. good luck and GOD BLESS, I REALLY KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! if you take pain med. take a tylenol with it to boost your pain med. that helps also.
Can you get a massage with a herniated disc?
Dec 29th
I have a herniated disc and i was curious to know if a massage would make it sooth it or be bad for it?
In my opinion, you should go to a chiropractor or an orthopedic physician first. There are some massage modalities like "hilot" that does not prevent someone with a herniated disc to undergo this modality BUT generally, it is contraindicated in massage.
Hope this helps a little.

What level of degree do you need to practice Chiropractic?
Dec 29th
I want to practice chiropractic, I want to know what level of degree you need in order to practice, as in start a clinic.
since no one has actually answered your question, i will. to practice chiropractic you need to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. to do this you need to have some prerequisite classes to get into a chiropractic school–which can be done in undergrad in 2-4 years. after that, you go to chiropractice school for about 3-4 years to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.
How is sciatica pain different from back pain?
Dec 29th
I have a shooting like pain down one side of my lower back which runs down towards my buttocks.
I am unable to bend due to this pain. And when i do, its really painful.
Does it sound like sciatica? Or just normal back pain?
Sounds possibly like sciatica / trapped nerve. My mum had really bad sciatica when she was heavily pregnant and had my little bro via c-section in the end, cos the pain was unbearable plus he was a large baby!! She still suffer from back pain now and is on medication for it.
I would maybe check with your doctor and see if he can suggest anything.
Im also currently feeling a similar pain, but havent yet been to a doctor, warm baths and heat pads and a deep heat muscular rub tends to help to relieve my aching back!
Hope that helps.
Please take a look at mine and answer, thanks

Relief from pinched nerves
My wife has a pinched nerve in her neck from watching too much Oprah. Can chiropractic help? Many patients suffering with pain are told their symptoms are due to “pinched nerves.” Unfortunately, pinched nerves is a poor description of a painful problem.
